Seed Embroidered Shirt

This exceptional hand made full seed-embroidered Dior x Kenny Scharf shirt was created alongside the Dior Pre-Fall 2021 Menswear collection, which debuted digitally in 2020. For this collection, Kim Jones collaborated with renowned artist Kenny Scharf, who first emerged in the 1980s New York art scene alongside iconic artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat. Scharf infused the collection with his signature bright, surreal figures, which were meticulously recreated on bags and clothing across the collection. To bring these designs to life, Dior enlisted skilled Chinese artisans, who impeccably translated Scharf's artworks into delicate seed embroidery, as seen in this exceptional shirt. For the construction of this shirt alone, Dior dyed almost 300 different colors of silk yarn to get as close to the original artwork as possible. A rare fusion of high fashion and contemporary art, this shirt is a remarkable opportunity for both Scharf and Dior collectors.
