Jacob & Co. Cuban Link Chain

When your aunty imagines what a “rapper chain” looks like, she is imagining a Cuban Link. It is the prototypical Hip Hop necklace and has been since the early eighties. Cuban Links come in a variety of shapes, sizes and materials, but when Pharrell partnered with Jacob in 2012, they changed the game. At 32 inches, rendered in 14K yellow gold and weighing nearly 2.2 pounds, the chain was already one of the most extravagant ever, but then they flooded it with over 1,500 brilliant-cut diamonds. Inspired by Slick Rick and empowered by his own creativity, Pharrell changed the game with this one. While Cuban Links were not uncommon at the time, paveed ones were unheard of. Basically it’s a Cuban Link in all caps, with handclap emojis between every syllable.
