JOOPITER is proud to announce THE SIMPLE THINGS (2008-2009), a collaborative artwork by Takashi Murakami and Pharrell Williams, in its upcoming auction, Just Phriends. A powerful testament to the profound synergy, creative exchange and cultural influence fostered by these two creative luminaries: THE SIMPLE THINGS is a sculptural incarnation of Murakami’s iconic artistic persona, MR DOB, encasing seven everyday objects cherished by Williams, crafted from gold and 26,000 diamonds and precious stones, by celebrated jeweler Jacob & Co.

Previously exhibited at the Palace of Versailles in 2010, Just Phriends marks the first time this legendary cultural artifact will be on display in the city of Paris for public view.

“I am very grateful that [this] piece is part of the auction. It’s the first time anyone is going to see this in Paris, so it’ll be interesting to see how a new generation and audience interacts with it.” – Pharrell Williams

Just Phriends opens for bidding on June 19 at JOOPITER.com with lots on display for public viewing from June 20-24 at 8 Av. Matignon.
