N.E.R.D. 14-Karat White Gold & Gemstone Brain Pendant Chain

Purchased by Kid Cudi from the inaugural JOOPITER Son Of A Pharaoh Auction, this custom-made 14k white gold, rose gold & diamond pendant and matching chain was commissioned in 2005 by Pharrell to celebrate the N.E.R.D. supergroup collaboration with longtime partners Shay Haley and Chad Hugo. White gold, rose gold, white diamonds and pink diamonds frame the N.E.R.D. brain logo, which is set in blue diamonds. The pendant and chain combined weigh in at just over 2 lbs. This piece was preceded by a yellow gold version which Pharrell commissioned in 2004. This chain was a very important artifact to Pharrell, more than just a necklace, marking a signifcant moment in time in his early music career.

Kid Cudi believes that "this chain has powers". Upon receiving the chain purchased at auction, Kid Cudi went to the studio with it around his neck, recording 10 songs in one night. Kid Cudi continued to use this powerful chain many times for future recording sessions, performing in it, winning an award in it, transferring his power into the already powerful chain. The best example of why Pharrell started JOOPITER, to continue the transfer of energy through objects which hold great meaning.
