To fete the release of N.E.R.D.'s sophomore album Fly Or Die, released in March 2004, the group collaborated with A Bathing Ape on a capsule collection featuring a unique red ""1st Camo"" motif tied to the color story of the album. Indicative of an era where the brand was at the height of its powers, with NIGO fully at the helm and hip-hop style firmly embracing its full-zip hoodies and recontextualized military codes. One of the most iconic patterns is BAPE so-called ""1st Camo,"" which debuted in 1996 and features a reimagined cloud camo pattern designed by enigmatic artist and longtime NIGO confidante Shinichiro ""Sk8thing"" Nakamura.
